The link below will take you to my VoiceThread discussing my experience using Lynda.com. I chose to complete a course on Lynda.com that had to do with education since it felt most fitting. I also wanted to explore the work that really goes into the packets of paper that we receive during the first week of classes that most students never look at again. Overall, I learned so much about how to write a syllabus and how important each piece of a syllabus is and I wish more students took this course just to understand why it is so important and a blessing that professors take the time to create and go over the syllabus with them.

Kadi, I have never thought about how much teachers have to go through to create a good syllabus. I always them to keep track of my classes, but your ILP has shown me how much thought actually goes into them; it's a lot more work than I thought. Overall, I thought your comments were perfect, and I'm glad that I watched this to advance my syllabi that I will write in the future.

ReplyDeleteKadi!!! Such a great ILP! Your Voice Thread was top notch and I could understand everything you were saying. I do love that you decided to do this particular Lynda.com lesson because I've always wondered how teachers starts from scratch on a syllabus. I think this is a great tool for new teachers who are still a little unsure of how to craft a syllabus and what is necessary to include. I also love that you decided to discuss points from the lesson that are relevant to our class, particularly with the point about contact information.
ReplyDeleteI loved your ILP Kadi! You spoke clearly and at a great speed throughout the entire presentation. Further, I like how you broke down the Lynda lesson your learned into the basic ideas that you felt were the most relevant so that your audience gets the most important information without having to actually complete the course. I also really love how you designed your project! Having sections from the lesson screenshotted and have the background hazy really makes the information you selected seem extremely important and catches the attention of the audience. This was a great way for you to highlight the important sections.
ReplyDeleteThis was so amazing! The way you broke this down and spoke so eloquently is amazing!! I love that you talked about the quiz that you had to take first to show the basic information ( I forgot to do that on mine). I love the basics that you put down because you have to be aware when you are teaching a class what the goal is. While people can stress about making lesson plans, having a syllabus that is easy to follow and relates everything together is helpful!
ReplyDeleteKadi, your voicethread sounded so confident! I think this was a great lynda.com tutorial to do, because I've also wondered about this. I think that adding the location, and descriptors for it is such a good idea, especially for teachers who work on larger campuses.
