Hello there, my name is Kadi(that's pronounced like Katie). I am in my second full year of college and am currently studying Creative Writing. I was born in Southern California and moved to Florida for my high school career, and eventually, my college career. I am the youngest of four children and my family is spread across the country like butter on a piece of toast at this point. I eventually hope to write for mainstream news outlets someday, but teaching English has always been an option at the back of my mind.
I have always had a more positive experience with the educators I have been blessed with throughout my life, maybe that is because I somehow understand them on a different level, and perhaps in some cases, they knew how to get me engaged in the content. I remember the first history class where I actually felt interested in the content that I was being taught. My sophomore year of high school I took World History with the most amazing history teacher I have ever had the opportunity to be educated by. Instead of pulling everything from the textbooks, she would present the information using Prezi. Every Prezi for every lesson would be so creative and somehow visually connected to the subject of the lesson. So, instead of being clicked through a bland Powerpoint, we were taken of a visually stimulating journey through the lesson.
While becoming an educator is not on the top of my list as a career path after I graduate, I do hope that this class will teach me how to really engage people in what I have to say in other ways as well. I also know that this will open a door for me if I do decide that I would like to go into teaching. I look up to so many of my teachers from the past and they helped me grow and get through so much while also teaching me the curriculum and I hope that one day I will be able to enlighten future generations as they do. I am very much looking forward to what I learn from this class's contents and my peers.

I think it's so cool you are from Southern California; I've always wanted to go there it seems so pretty! Why did you decide to go to FSU? I can tell you are a Creative Writing major because your writing is so fun and easy to read!
